C'Ville Walk-A-Mile

Description
On April 8, 2017, hundreds of community members will gather on Charlottesville's Downtown Mall to “Walk a Mile" in support of the Sexual Assault Resource Agency (SARA). Inspired by the saying, “you can't really understand a person's experience until you've walked a mile in their shoes," everyone is invited to proclaim their solidarity with the sexual assault prevention movement by marching in someone else's shoes. Educators, students, law enforcement officers, elected officials and others are expected to participate.
Registration is $25 for adults (get a team together!!). Kids under 10 walk for free.
Please arrive at 11:30am to pick up registration packet. Event will begin at noon.
When you register, you will receive an event T-shirt, a raffle ticket, and a beer ticket for participants over 21 years of age. In addition, you will also receive a coupon for $25 off a ticket to SARA'S Spring Thing taking place on May 6!
Participants are encouraged to challenge themselves in their shoe selection for the event, including
sequins, glitter and other decorations. Some are choosing to write the name of a survivor or other loved one on their shoes. High heels are not required. Any shoes are acceptable, and all participants are welcome.
The raffle and After Party will be at South Street Brewery following the walk and includes donations from a variety of local businesses.
