Description
The Annette DeGregoria Grimm Award Celebration is November 17, 2017 at the Boar's Head Inn. Named for one of SARA's long-time Executive Directors, the celebration honors ordinary citizens or professionals who have made extraordinary contributions to the elimination of sexual violence in our community.
This year, we will be honoring Delegate Eileen Filler-Corn & Senator Jennifer McClellan. Inspired by some of SARA's Step-Up students, these legislators co-sponsored bills adding the option of teaching about consent in relationships to Virginia's Family Life Education Code.

Diversified funding sources are critical for the long-term sustainability of the agency. The proceeds from this event, combined with private contributions throughout the year, have made up about 30% of SARA's annual operating budget for prevention education and community outreach.
We expect 200+ attendees including medical professionals, legislators, philanthropists, staff and volunteers from other non-profit and social service organizations, county and city agency representatives, and individuals from the private sector interested in strengthening our community.
